Maples and Calder, the Maples Group’s law firm, is pleased to announce that its Asia Funds & Investment Management practice has advised UBS Management (Cayman) Limited (“UBS”) on the launch of the BlackRock Private Investments iCapital Offshore Access Fund (the “Fund”).
The Fund, which launched on 10 June 2026, is structured as a Cayman Islands unit trust and is authorised for public offering in Japan.
The Fund’s investment objective is to seek long-term capital appreciation and to provide attractive risk-adjusted returns primarily through an actively-managed portfolio that provides targeted exposure to private equity markets.
A team of lawyers based in the firm’s Singapore office acted as Cayman Islands counsel to UBS and was led by Funds & Investment Management Partner Nick Harrold and assisted by Associate Nicholas Lim and Senior Paralegal Veronica Chen.
Commenting on the transaction, Nick Harrold said: “We are pleased to have advised UBS on the launch of the Fund, which provides Japanese investors with indirect access to BlackRock’s world-class private equity platform. The Fund reflects the continued strength of demand from Japanese investors for diversified private market exposure.”
