Maples Group Advises on Launch of Nomura Fund Select – Carlyle Private Equity Partners Fund

Maples and Calder, the Maples Group’s law firm, is pleased to announce that its Asia Funds & Investment Management practice has advised Global Funds Trust Company (“GFTC”), a member of the Nomura Group, on the launch of Nomura Fund Select – Carlyle Private Equity Partners Fund (the “Fund”).
The Fund, which launched on 19 February 2026, is structured as a Cayman Islands unit trust and is authorised for public offering in Japan.
The Fund will be distributed in Japan by Nomura Securities Co., Ltd. and the Fund’s investment adviser is Nomura Asset Management Co., Ltd.
The Fund’s investment objective is to seek to generate attractive risk-adjusted returns and achieve medium-to-long-term capital appreciation by investing indirectly into a well-diversified portfolio of private equity investments. The Fund will seek to achieve its investment objective by investing substantially all of its assets in Carlyle Private Markets S.A. SICAV-UCI Part II – Carlyle Private Equity Partners – EU.
A team of lawyers based in the firm’s Singapore office acted as Cayman Islands counsel to GFTC. The team was led by Funds & Investment Management Partner, Nick Harrold and was assisted by Associates Costa Valtas and Nicholas Lim and Senior Paralegal Veronica Chen.
