Areas of Expertise
Emre specializes in Luxembourg and international tax law, advising asset managers and global investors on the tax aspects of cross-border private equity, real estate and debt investments as well as on the structuring of regulated and unregulated investment fund platforms. He also advises multinational companies and banks on the tax implications of corporate reorganisations, mergers and acquisitions, securitisation and capital market transactions.
His practice further includes assisting clients in tax disputes (pre-litigation and litigation), exchange-of-information regimes (including DAC6, FATCA, and CRS), and the implementation of global minimum taxation (Pillar Two).
Emre also has a strong professional focus on the taxation of crypto-assets, advising on the evolving Luxembourg and international tax frameworks applicable to digital assets, tokenisation structures, and blockchain-based investment models.
Emre joined the Maples Group in 2026. He was previously at DLA Piper and A&O Shearman. Emre has been recognised as “Rising Star” by ITR World Tax.
Emre frequently speaks at conferences, plays an active role in industry initiatives, and regularly contributes to publications on Luxembourg and international tax issues.
