Maples Group Receives 2022 Montreal’s Top Employers Honours

The Maples Group is proud to announce that it has once again been recognised as one of Montreal’s Top Employers. MediaCorp Canada Inc, the publisher of the Canada’s Top 100 Employers series, selected the Maples Group for its dedication to providing a consistently supportive workplace environment that sets it apart as an exceptional employer in the Greater Montreal area.

The Group was also named in the 2021 Montreal Top Employers list, a testament to the company’s commitment to providing outstanding opportunities to its employees.

The Group’s adaptation of the work environment, social interactions and communication amid the COVID-19 pandemic and its generous tuition assistance, paid study-leave and expansive opportunities for employee development were cited as key factors in the repeat nomination and selection to the list.

Since its opening in October 2009, the Maples Group Montreal office has flourished and tapped into the great culture and diversity that the city has to offer.  Nearly three-quarters of the Montreal staff were born outside of Canada, with 50 nationalities represented and 35 languages spoken among the team.  Career opportunities in the office span an array of financial services disciplines, including compliance, accounting, finance, marketing, human resources, data management, project management and information technology.  The majority of teams in the Montreal office support the Group’s fund and fiduciary service offerings, which provide a diverse set of solutions to the world’s top alternative asset management firms and institutional investors.  The dynamic workplace culture has garnered the company an outstanding reputation and in 2021, the Group’s Montreal office received more than 12,000 job applications.  The office has more than tripled its headcount in the past five years and some 70% of its staff have joined since the onset of the pandemic.

The Maples Group has continued to set the standard for creating an environment for its people that enables professional effectiveness while fostering a culture that supports personal fulfilment.  Accordingly, the company has continued to evolve its employee engagement programmes within the physical and virtual office environment.  Last year, the Group launched its Associate Programme to offer new university graduates the opportunity to rotate through multiple departments and gain exposure to various roles, technology and clients within their first two years at the company.  This Associate Programme supplements a broad offering of other programmes and initiatives, such as a mentoring programme with senior leaders within the company, career weeks, markets updates, wellness weeks and a wide variety of in-person and virtual training sessions.  The Group has expanded its employee social interactions during the pandemic through frequent social events and a virtual social connections networking group with the objective to bring together like-minded people.
