Maples Group Expands Luxembourg Fiduciary Team with Senior Appointments

The Maples Group, a leading global legal and international financial services provider, has expanded its fiduciary services team in Luxembourg with two senior appointments. Aune Quénéhervé joins as Senior Vice President, following the appointment of Cosmin Emanuel Ion as Senior Vice President earlier this year, further enhancing the Group’s capabilities in one of Europe’s leading fund domiciles.

Aune Quénéhervé is a highly experienced finance professional, working for over 20 years in the financial services sector. A Certified Public Accountant with ‘Big Four’ audit and advisory experience, she brings extensive expertise in accounting, financial reporting, audit oversight and regulatory compliance. Throughout her career, Aune has advised clients on regulated and unregulated private equity and real estate structures and built and led specialist technical accounting teams. She has also supported alternative investment funds, SPVs, holding companies and multinational groups through complex transactions, fund lifecycle events and corporate restructurings.

Cosmin Emanuel Ion has more than 18 years’ international experience across audit, fund administration and financial services. A Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), he specialises in private equity and real estate structures with in-depth knowledge of the Luxembourg alternative investment funds landscape, including regulatory frameworks, governance requirements and reporting obligations. His ‘Big Four’ background includes significant exposure to Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR), capital markets transactions, and complex financial reporting environments. Cosmin has held various senior positions overseeing the administration and governance of complex cross-border investment structures.

Together, Aune and Cosmin will support a wide range of fund and corporate structures, bringing complementary expertise across accounting, financial reporting, regulatory oversight and governance. Their appointments reflect the continued growth of the Maples Group’s fiduciary business in Luxembourg and further enhance the depth of experience available to clients operating in increasingly complex market and regulatory environments.

Both Aune and Cosmin will attend EXPO REAL in Munich in October, where they will meet with clients and industry participants from across the international real estate sector.
