As the Maples Group continues to evolve to meet the needs of its clients and colleagues and to ensure it is positioned for future success, we would like to share an important leadership update.
After nearly 25 years with the organisation and over 15 years as Chief Executive Officer of MaplesFS, Scott Somerville will be stepping down from this role effective 30 November 2025. Scott will remain with the Maples Group until his retirement on 30 November 2026. During this period, he will be focusing on various client initiatives, transitioning certain responsibilities and working on a number of special projects. As part of a closely considered and structured succession plan, we are pleased to announce that Guy Major and Tyler Kim have been appointed as Co-Chief Executive Officers of MaplesFS effective 1 December 2025.
Since joining the organisation in 2003 and being appointed CEO of MaplesFS in 2010, Scott has played a pivotal role in the Maples Group’s expansion across jurisdictions and service lines. During Scott’s time as a global equity partner, serving as a member of the Group’s Global Management Committee for a number of years, and particularly as CEO of MaplesFS, the Group has strengthened its global footprint, built a resilient and collaborative culture, and enhanced its reputation as a trusted partner for clients around the world.
With oversight of MaplesFS and its fiduciary, fund administration, regulatory and compliance and entity formation and management businesses, and as a member of the MaplesFS Executive Management Committee, Scott has helped shape and execute the Maples Group’s long-term strategy. His experience in financial services coupled with his global regulatory perspective has made him a respected voice in the industry and with his guidance and insight, we have solidified our position as a preeminent service provider.
Guy and Tyler bring vast institutional knowledge, complementary expertise, and a shared commitment to the values and vision that define the Maples Group. Guy joined the Maples Group in 2002 and has been the Global Head of Fiduciary since 2014. He has played an important role in driving the growth of various businesses and has played a key role in developing new solutions and products for clients, including the introduction of the Group’s global entity formation and management services and the establishment of our Delaware office. Tyler has been with the Maples Group since 2009 and has served as Global Head of Fund Services since 2015. He previously held the role of MaplesFS Chief Information Officer and was instrumental in transforming our technological infrastructure to enhance our own operations while also developing tailored solutions for clients. Their appointment ensures continuity of leadership and positions the organisation for continued success in serving our clients and investing in our people.
