Maples Group Advises Citigroup First Investment Management Limited on US Market Strategy Fund Launch

Maples and Calder, the Maples Group’s law firm, is pleased to announce that its Japanese Funds practice recently advised Citigroup First Investment Management Limited (“CFIM”) on the launch of US Market Strategy Fund (“the Fund”). The Fund launched on 2 May 2025, is authorised for public offering in Japan.

The Fund enables Japanese investors to gain access to a portfolio which provides exposure to systematic strategies aimed to capitalise on market pattern dynamics in the US bond and interest rate markets, as well as fixed income instruments, providing a diversified investment avenue.

A team of lawyers based in the firm’s Hong Kong & Singapore offices acted as Cayman Islands legal counsel to CFIM and was led by Funds & Investment Management Partner, Nick Harrold and assisted by Associate, Costa Valtas and Regulatory & Financial Services Advisory Associate, Daniel Moore. The team has a proven track record, having recently advised CFIM on the launch of several other publicly offered Japan Funds1.
