James is an associate of Maples and Calder’s Corporate team in the Maples Group’s Cayman Islands office. His experience includes advising on a broad range of corporate work, including private equity, IPOs, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and SPACs. He also advises investment managers, financial institutions and their onshore counsel on the structuring, formation and operation of a wide range of investment fund structures.
Prior to joining the Maples Group’s Cayman Islands office in 2015, James acted as in-house counsel for an investment fund manager based in London. Before that, he worked for Pinsent Masons LLP and Speechly Bircham LLP.
James is a member of the Cayman Islands Legal Practitioners Association (CILPA).
