James advises on the establishment, authorisation, operation and maintenance of all types of Irish domiciled investment funds, with particular focus on ICAVs regulated under the UCITS or AIFMD regime.  He advises global asset managers on a broad range of asset classes and the implementation of strategies through a variety of fund structures, including exchange traded funds, master-feeders, fund of funds, funds with wholly-owned special purpose vehicles and private equity funds. James also advises sponsors seeking to obtain authorisation of an Irish entity as a UCITS management company, AIFM or MiFID investment firm and the exercise of management passport permissions for such entities across the EU.  In addition, he advises and supports clients on all aspects of regulatory change ‒arising from Brexit, CP86 and MiFID II, among others‒effecting their Irish funds.
