Areas of Expertise
Barbara is an associate in Maples and Calder’s Finance team in the Maples Group’s Dubai office advising on Cayman Islands and British Virgin Islands law.
Barbara’s key practice areas are international capital markets, Islamic finance, structured finance, aircraft finance, fund finance and banking. Barbara advises a variety of corporates and financial institutions across the GCC and MENA region, with particular focus on the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman and Turkey. Barbara has an established track record of advising on a number of high-profile and innovative market-first transactions including sukuk programme establishments and standalone issuances, major debt restructuring transactions, aircraft finance transactions (including aircraft ABS), growth financings and cross-disciplinary acquisition financing combining capital markets and banking expertise. Barbara also regularly advises on general corporate and commercial Cayman Islands and British Virgin Islands matters.
Barbara joined the Maples Group in 2022. She previously worked in the securitisation team at Ashurst and trained and qualified at Clifford Chance.
