Maples Group Welcomes 13 New Associates to its Irish Law Firm
Maples and Calder (Ireland) LLP, the Maples Group’s law firm, is pleased to announce the appointment of 13 new Associates in Ireland. Notably, 10 of these Associates were appointed following their successful completion of the firm’s 2.5 year Trainee Programme. This is the highest number of newly qualified positions offered by the firm to date and further demonstrates the continued growth of the law firm in Ireland.

The new Associates include Aileen McCormack (Funds & Investment Management), Ciaran Gallagher (Finance), Edwina Hilton (Finance), Fiachra MacElhatton (Funds & Investment Management), Hilary Heelan (Funds & Investment Management), Krzysztof Podkonski (Finance), Lauren McGarry (Funds & Investment Management), Niamh Harford (Funds & Investment Management), Niamh Maguire (Funds & Investment Management), Peter Dunlea (Tax), Robert Boos (Financial Services Regulatory), Shane Divilly (Corporate) and Síofra McNamee (Funds & Investment Management).

These new appointments form part of the international law firm’s annual promotions. Earlier this year, 17 new Partners and Of Counsel were appointed across the firm’s market-leading practice areas in seven locations including the promotion of five senior lawyers in Ireland1.
About the New Associates
Aileen McCormick is an Associate in the Maples Group’s Funds & Investment Management team in the Dublin office. Aileen advises on the establishment, authorisation, regulation and operation of Irish regulated funds, including UCITS, AIFs and other specialised fund products.
Ciaran Gallagher is an Associate in the Maples Group’s Banking team in the Dublin Office. Ciaran works across a wide variety of clients which include lenders and borrowers both domestically and internationally. Ciaran advises on matters such as real estate finance, acquisition finance, development finance and fund finance.
Edwina Hilton is an Associate in the Maples Group’s Finance team in the Dublin office. Edwina advises on a broad range of finance, debt capital markets and structured finance transactions with a particular focus on structured products.
Fiachra MacElhatton is an Associate in the Maples Group’s Funds & Investment Management team in the Dublin office. Fiachra advises on the establishment, authorisation, regulation and operation of Irish regulated funds, including UCITS, AIFs and other specialised fund products.
Hilary Heelan is an Associate in the Maples Group’s Funds & Investment Management team in the Dublin office. Hilary advises on the establishment, authorisation, regulation and operation of Irish regulated funds, including UCITS, AIFs and other specialised fund products.
Krzysztof Podkinksi is an Associate in the Maples Group’s Asset Finance team in the Dublin office. Krzysztof advises operating lessors and financial institutions on all aspects of aircraft finance, acquisition and leasing including debt financing, EXIM and ECA financing, PDP financing, asset backed securitisations and operating lease structures.
Lauren McGarry is an Associate in the Maples Group’s Funds & Investment Management team in the Dublin office. Lauren advises on the establishment, authorisation and operation of all types of investment funds, including UCITS funds and AIFMD-compliant funds across a broad range of strategies.
Niamh Harford is an Associate in the Maples Group’s Funds & Investment Management team in the Dublin office. Niamh advises on the establishment, authorisation, regulation and operation of Irish regulated funds, including UCITS, AIFs and other specialised fund products.
Niamh Maguire is an Associate in the Maples Group’s Funds & Investment Management team in the Maples Group’s Dublin office. Niamh advises on the establishment, authorisation, regulation and operation of Irish regulated funds, including UCITS, AIFs and other specialised fund products.
Peter Dunlea is an Associate in the Maples Group’s Tax team in the Dublin office. Peter advises on a range of Irish and EU tax matters including corporate, investment funds and financial services tax matters.
Robert Boos is an Associate in the Maples Group’s Irish Financial Services Regulatory team in the Dublin office. Robert advises financial institutions across all industry sectors on a variety of regulatory issues, including MiFID investment firms and fund service providers, banks, insurers, e-money and payment firms, crowdfunding service providers, VASPs, and credit servicing and retail credit firms.
Shane Divilly is an Associate in the Maples Group’s Corporate team in the Dublin office. Shane advises on a wide range of corporate transactions including mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and private equity investments, corporate restructurings and shareholder matters.
Síofra McNamee is an Associate in the Maples Group’s Funds & Investment Management team and works across the Dublin and London offices. Síofra advises on the establishment, authorisation, regulation and marketing of Irish regulated funds including AIFs, UCITS and other specialised fund products.
