Maples Group Strengthens International Trusts & Private Client Team with Lateral Partner Hire Nick Holland
Maples and Calder, the Maples Group’s law firm, is continuing to strengthen its international trusts and private client expertise with the hire of top-ranked senior lawyer Nick Holland. He will join as the head of the law firm’s Trusts & Private Client team in the Group’s London office in September 2024 before moving to the Cayman Islands later in the year.

Nick has a well-established practice, with clients in Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas, and extensive experience of advising institutional trustees, private clients and other market advisers on complex, multi-jurisdictional matters. He joins the Maples Group as private clients become an increasingly important source of investment, with the number of family offices around the world tripling to over 4,500 between 2019 and 2023.

With over 25 years of experience Nick joins from McDermott Will & Emery’s private client team, previously having worked at other firms in the UK, Cayman Islands and Canada. He is qualified in Ireland, England & Wales, the Cayman Islands, Ontario, and British Columbia, and has taught at the University of Western Ontario and University College of the Cayman Islands. Nick has top-level recognition from Chambers & Partners, Legal 500, Citywealth and American Lawyer Magazine’s Global Elite.
