The annual awards event recognises innovation and special achievement across the fund services industry. Maples’ receiving the award for ESG was based on the Group’s innovative product set, aimed at providing investment managers and institutional investors with an extensive array of solutions to facilitate their ESG investment, distribution and governance processes.
With ESG assets under management (“AUM”) on track to account for nearly US$53 trillion by 2025—one-third of global AUM—managers and investors are under increasing pressure to make the right investment calls while meeting regulatory and compliance goals. Earlier this year, the Maples Group announced an expansion in its ESG fund services toolkit. In addition to the creation of the Maples ESG Platform ICAV, a turnkey solution for launching and distributing SFDR Article 8 and Article 9 funds in Europe, the new offering comprises ESG data and reporting capabilities and independent ESG certification for managers and funds; as well as augments the Maples Group’s fiduciary and legal ESG advisory offerings.
“We recognise the importance of ESG and how consideration of these factors will shape the investment funds industry,” said Mark Weir, Deputy Global Head of Fund Services at Maples Group. “We are proud to be recognised for our efforts to deliver unique solutions to support our clients’ ESG initiatives and to guide our clients through the ever-changing regulatory landscape.”
The award from Global Custodian is the latest of a series of recent awards brought home by the Maples Group Fund Services team. In April, the group was recognised as “Best Administrator – Offshore” at the 2022 Hedgeweek European Awards, and was highly commended at the HFM European Services Awards in the “Best Administrator – Start Up and Emerging Funds” category.
