Maples Group Maintains Leading Positions in 2021 Asia Pacific Legal Directories
Maples and Calder, the Maples Group’s law firm, is proud to announce that its Asia Pacific offices have once again received top-tier rankings in the 2021 editions of Chambers Asia Pacific and The Legal 500 Asia Pacific.

The Group’s Asia practices were described as “very strong and knowledgeable” by Chambers and as “a leader” compared to other firms operating in the region by The Legal 500. Among the comments from clients and industry peers, the firm was praised for being “consistently practical” and “very commercial” with “insights into a raft of recent Cayman law developments that many of the other Cayman law firms do not have”.
In addition to the firm’s overall rankings, five Asia-based Partners received individual accolades by Chambers, and notably, Anthony Webster and Michael Gagie were two of only three lawyers listed as under the ‘Eminent Practitioner’ category, the highest level of recognition given by the directory. Hong Kong Partners Ann Ng, Anthony Webster, Matt Roberts and Jonathan Silver received the ‘Leading Individuals’ distinction by The Legal 500, while Terence Ho was acknowledged for his expertise under the ‘Next Generation Partners’ category. These rankings follow a successful year for the Group’s Asia Pacific team who collected four “Offshore Firm of the Year” awards in 2020 in addition to several awards for their role advising on innovative client transactions. More recently, the team received seven “Deals of the Year” awards by China Business Law Journal.
The Maples Group’s Asia offices continues to go from strength to strength and now have over 300 legal, fund services and fiduciary services lawyers and professionals based in Hong Kong, Singapore and Shanghai.
