Maples Group Continues Support for Sustainable Finance Week Ireland with 2024 Sponsorship

The annual event, previously known as Climate Finance Week Ireland, takes place from November 25 – 29, 2024.

Sustainable Finance Week 2024 is Ireland’s premier event dedicated to advancing sustainable finance and tackling the pressing challenges of climate change. Reflecting this year’s broader focus on sustainable finance, the Maples Group will host an engaging discussion exploring how AI and innovation is shaping the future of sustainable finance. The discussion will also cover the role of innovation in transforming traditional finance practices to support ESG goals.

Peter Stapleton, Ireland Managing Partner and Global lead on ESG at the Maples Group, expressed his views on the importance of sustainable finance: “Despite ongoing global challenges, the Maples Group remains committed to playing its part in driving the sustainable finance agenda forward. Through our long support of Ireland’s flagship annual sustainable event, we are acutely aware of the positive impact that Ireland’s financial services sector can have on the global transition to a more sustainable future.”

The Maples Group’s business session takes place at 4.00pm on Thursday, 28 November at MoLI – Museum of Literature Ireland. Following a welcome address from Peter Stapleton, Claire Morrissey from the firm’s Data practice will moderate a panel discussion exploring the intersection of AI, climate technology and sustainable finance.

Our distinguished panellists include Seán Boyle, Co-Founder of unitmode; Brian Marrinan, General Partner at Team ABC; Oliver Begley, Founder of Biota; and Aidan Kenny, Head of Innovation at the Maples Group. On conclusion of the panel discussion, Ian Conlon, Partner and Head of the firm’s Sustainable Investing Group in Ireland will sit down for a fireside chat with Aoibheann O’Brien, Co-Founder of social enterprise, FoodCloud.
