Maples Group Appoints Of Counsel Duo in the Cayman Islands

Maples and Calder (Cayman) LLP, the Maples Group’s law firm, is pleased to announce the promotion of Cayman Islands-based lawyers, Adam Huckle and James Meehan, to Of Counsel.

These new Of Counsel appointments form part of the firm’s wider 2021 Cayman Islands promotions, which included the appointment of six new partners  across the firm’s Corporate, Dispute Resolution & Insolvency, Funds & Investment Management, Regulatory & Financial Services and Trusts & Private Client practice groups.

This year, the firm announced a record number of promotions, promoting 24 lawyers in total which included 15 new Partners and 9 new Of Counsels across its global network.

Adam Huckle

Adam’s practice has an emphasis on complex trusts and regulatory disputes.  Adam’s broader regulatory practices focuses on economic sanctions, cross-border conduct of business, duties of confidentiality, anti-corruption and bribery, licensing, record retention and mandatory reporting and information exchange.

James Meehan

James advises on the establishment, authorisation, operation and maintenance of all types of Irish domiciled investment funds, with particular focus on ICAVs regulated under the UCITS or AIFMD regime.  He advises on a broad range of asset classes and the implementation of strategies through a variety of fund structures.
