Maples Group Advises Winking Studios on Landmark London Stock Exchange Dual Listing

Maples and Calder, the Maples Group’s law firm, is pleased to have advised Winking Studios Limited (“Winking Studios”) on its dual listing, the placement of 52,666,667 shares and the admission of its share capital to trading on AIM of London Stock Exchange. The dual listing, which closed on 14 November 2024, raised approximately £7.9 million. Notably, Winking Studios is the first Asian gaming company to list in the UK and the first gaming company in the world to be dual listed on the Singapore and London Stock Exchanges.

Winking Studios is majority-owned by Acer Gaming, the gaming arm of Taiwan-listed electronics company Acer. It is an art outsourcing and game development services provider offering complete end-to-end art outsourcing and game development services across various platforms such as console, PC, online and handheld content for the video games industry. Winking Studios is currently the fourth largest game art outsourcing company globally.

A team based in the firm’s Hong Kong office acted as Cayman Islands counsel to Winking Studios and was led by Corporate Partner, Juno Huang and assisted by Associate, Janelle Ho. The Maples Group previously acted as Cayman Islands counsel to Winking Studios in relation to its initial public offering and the listing on the Catalist of the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited in 2023.
