Maples Group Advises First Game Development Company to List on Singapore Exchange
Maples and Calder, the Maples Group’s law firm, is pleased to have advised Winking Studios Limited (“Winking Studios”) in relation to its initial public offering of 40,000,000 ordinary shares, and the listing on the Catalist of the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited (the “SGX”). The offering was closed on 20 November 2023. Winking Studios is the first game-related company to list on the SGX and is now ranked as the Asia’s third largest and the world’s fourth-largest game art outsourcing studio.

Winking Studios is majority-owned by Acer Gaming, the gaming arm of Taiwan-listed electronics company Acer. It has over 25 years of experience providing complete end-to-end art outsourcing and game development services across various platforms for the video games industry whose major customers include the world’s renowned game developers, including China’s Tencent and NetEase, South Korea’s NCSoft, Japan’s Square Enix, France’s Ubisoft and the United States’ EA.
A team of lawyers based in the firm’s Hong Kong office, led by Corporate Partner, Juno Huang and assisted by Associate, Janelle Ho acted as Cayman Islands counsel to Winking Studios.
