Maples and Calder, the Maples Group’s law firm, is pleased to have advised Blackstone on the Cayman Islands aspects of the final close of Blackstone Capital Partners Asia III (“BCP Asia III”) at US$13.1 billion, exceeding its US$10 billion target and marking Blackstone’s largest private equity fundraise in Asia to date.
BCP Asia III was oversubscribed and reached its hard-cap, raising more than double the amount of its predecessor vehicle – a reflection of strong investor demand for Asia-focused private equity opportunities.
A team of lawyers based in the Group’s Cayman Islands office acted as Cayman Islands counsel to Blackstone and was led by partners Julian Ashworth, Patrick Rosenfeld, Stef Dimitriou and Brock Colville, with assistance from associates Chris Dudurovic and Ben Kennedy.
“We are absolutely delighted to have advised Blackstone on this milestone fundraise,” commented Patrick Rosenfeld.
