Maples Group Advises AppLovin on Mobile Gaming Business Sale to Tripledot Studios

Maples Group provides Cayman Islands counsel to AppLovin in the sale of its mobile gaming business to Tripledot Studios.

Maples and Calder, the Maples Group’s law firm, is pleased to announce its role as Cayman Islands legal counsel to AppLovin Corporation (“AppLovin”) in the successful sale of its mobile gaming business to Tripledot Studios (“Tripledot”). The transaction, which closed on 30 June 2025, underscores the firm’s expertise in advising on cross-border transactions.

Under the terms of the agreement, AppLovin—a global leader in marketing technology—received US$400 million in cash and a 20% equity interest in Tripledot. The sale encompassed the transfer of 10 leading mobile game studios and a portfolio of popular gaming franchises.

The firm’s Cayman Islands Corporate team was led by Partner Sophia Scott, supported by Associates Mariana Alves and Akshay Naidoo. The team worked in close collaboration with lead US counsel Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati to ensure a streamlined execution of the transaction across multiple jurisdictions.
