Games developer, Vela Games is a Dublin-based studio established in 2018 by a group of former Riot and Electronic Arts developers. The company previously raised US$6.9 million in funding rounds to build a 25 person development team to refine its design.
This funding round, led by Novator Partners with additional investment from Ubisoft and LVP, will enable Vela to continue expanding its team and accelerate the development of its first game, codenamed ‘Project-V’. The new game is being pitched as a skill-based co-operative experience in the newly defined ‘Multi-player Online Co-Operative’ (MOCO) genre.
A team based in the firm’s Irish office advised Vela Games and was led by Deirdre MacCarthy, a Partner in the Irish Corporate practice, who was assisted by Associate, Emma Sheehy.
