OVERVIEW
Stephen is a partner of Maples and Calder's Funds & Investment Management team in the Maples Group's Cayman Islands office. He advises on the formation and maintenance of all types of investment funds, including private equity funds and hedge funds. Stephen also has extensive experience advising Asian clients on Unit Trusts, SPCs and other investment fund structures as well as providing advice on general corporate and commercial matters.BACKGROUND
Stephen joined the Maples Group in 2005, where he trained and qualified into the Funds & Investment Management team. He has worked in various jurisdictions for the Maples Group (in London, Hong Kong and currently the Cayman Islands) and served a secondment with White & Case LLP (in London). Stephen has been ranked as a 'Next Generation Partner' and a 'Rising Star' by Legal 500.PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES
Stephen is a member of the Cayman Islands Legal Practitioners Association and the Law Society of England and Wales. He is also a past President of the Caymanian Bar Association and served on the Board of Governors of the University College of the Cayman Islands.AREAS OF EXPERTISE
