OVERVIEW

Gwyneth is a partner of Maples and Calder's Funds & Investment Management team in the Maples Group's Cayman Islands office.  She works extensively with hedge fund managers and private equity sponsors and their onshore counsel on all aspects of the establishment, maintenance and restructuring of offshore investment funds.  She represents large global financial institutions and asset managers, as well as boutique and emerging managers.  Gwyneth has over 25 years' experience advising on the formation and structuring of hedge, hybrid, credit and activist funds, private equity funds and investment fund platforms.

BACKGROUND

Gwyneth began her legal career at Herbert Smith Freehills, London, where she worked in the corporate group before moving to the investment funds group of King & Wood Mallesons, Sydney, Australia.  She then moved in-house to AMP Financial Services as head of the retail investment funds legal team.  Gwyneth has been recognised by The International Who's Who Legal as a leading lawyer in private funds and ranked as a notable practitioner by Chambers Global.  She has also been recommended in Legal 500 and IFLR1000 and has been named as a leading practitioner by Legal Media Group's Expert Guide to the World's Leading Women in Business Law and as one of the 50 Leading Woman in Hedge Funds by the Hedge Fund Journal.
