Maples and Calder, the Maples Group's law firm, is pleased to have advised GA Telesis, LLC ("GAT"), as Cayman Islands legal counsel, on the launch of HALO AirFinance ("HALO"), a new direct aviation lending platform.

HALO is a joint venture between GAT and Tokyo Century Corporation that will act as the exclusive debt origination channel for the joint venture partners. HALO will focus on secured direct lending to airlines, lessors, and investors, covering new to mid-life aircraft.

As part of the transaction, HALO launched its first fund, HALO One, in partnership with InterVest Capital Partners and entered into an innovative revolving credit facility with a syndicate of lenders arranged by Citigroup and Fifth Third Bank.

The investment funds team comprised Partner, Philip Dickinson and Associate, Che Ammon. The aviation finance team included Partner and Co-Head of Asset Finance, Jonathon Meloy and Partner, Anthony Philp.

Commenting on the transaction, Jonathon Meloy, said "It was a privilege to assist GA Telesis on their new fund, lending platform and financing and we look forward to the success of HALO, which will greatly benefit the aviation finance industry in the coming years.
