Scott is Of Counsel of Maples and Calder’s Dispute Resolution & Insolvency team in the Maples Group’s Hong Kong office. Scott previously worked in the firm’s British Virgin Islands (“BVI”) office and brings extensive offshore experience, having spent almost nine years practising in both the BVI and Jersey. He advises on complex commercial disputes, particularly those arising from distressed situations, including fraud and asset recovery, shareholder actions, cross-border insolvency and restructuring, contentious trust and probate disputes, and enforcement proceedings.
Scott joined the Maples Group in 2019. With over a decade of experience in complex commercial disputes, he previously practised with leading offshore and UK law firms before joining the firm. Admitted as a solicitor-advocate, Scott has appeared before courts at all levels in the Eastern Caribbean, including the Court of Appeal and the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council. He is admitted in the BVI and in England & Wales (non-practising), and has been recognised by Legal 500 for his work in dispute resolution.

2019 – Admitted as a legal practitioner of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court (British Virgin Islands)
