Sam is an associate of Maples and Calder’s Regulatory & Financial Services team in the Maples Group’s Cayman Islands office. He provides advice on a wide range of regulatory matters including anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing, beneficial ownership, sanctions, the virtual asset service providers regime, automatic exchange of information obligations, and Cayman Islands Monetary Authority licensing and registrations.
Sam joined the Maples Group in 2025. He previously worked for leading New Zealand law firm MinterEllisonRuddWatts in its Financial Services team, advising on funds and financial services regulation including the anti-money laundering and countering financing of terrorism regime, payments, climate-related disclosures, and virtual assets.
