Areas of Expertise
Kayla is an associate of Maples and Calder’s Finance team in the Maples Group’s Cayman Islands office. Kayla works on a wide range of finance transactions, including fund finance, repackagings, aircraft finance and structured finance, with a particular focus on collateralised loan obligation (CLO) transactions, and Cayman Islands Stock Exchange listings. She also advises on general corporate and commercial matters.
Kayla joined the Maples Group in 2026. Prior to joining, she worked in the Litigation, Insolvency & Restructuring practice at another international law firm in the Cayman Islands, where she acted on complex cross‑border insolvency and restructuring disputes, shareholder disputes and enforcement matters. This background provides Kayla a valuable perspective when advising lenders, issuers and borrowers.
Kayla is a member of the Cayman Islands Legal Practitioners Association (CILPA) and 100 Women in Finance. She is also actively engaged in the community through her membership in the Rotaract Club of Grand Cayman, where she has served on the board in various roles.
