Cristian Stamate

Cristian has significant experience in IT and is responsible for creating and maintaining the IT audit strategy, as well as developing and presenting the IT audit plans.  He conducts the internal IT audits for the Maples Group in order to ensure that IT risks are properly identified and managed and to identify and report compliance breaches.  He is also actively involved in external audits ensuring a proper liaison with auditors.

Previously, Cristian worked at BRD-Société Générale as Chief Audit Operations Officer, where he was responsible for increasing the integration and synergy between SG subsidiary audit teams in 10 countries.  He also has experience in IS auditing and IT risk management in highly regulated industries and multinational organizations.  Cristian also specialises in setting up and managing the IT audit function, creating its identity and awareness, promoting the role within the company and coaching staff to become IT audit professionals, all of which he successfully accomplished  at three major international banks.
