Held virtually on 5 May 2021, the Asia Legal Awards also awarded the firm “Finance Deal of the Year: Acquisitions”, for its role as Cayman Islands counsel in 58.com’s US$8.7B take-private, as well as “Securities Deal of the Year: Equity” for JD.com’s HK$30.1B Hong Kong secondary listing . These notable deals have previously been recognised in various industry awards, including the IFLR Asia Pacific Awards, China Law & Practice Awards and FinanceAsia Achievement Awards.
At the China Business Law Awards, the firm was recognised as one of the three “Best Offshore Law Firms”, described as having “long established itself as a leading offshore law firm in the region”. The firm was also recognised for its involvement in the Internet and e-Commerce sector, having acted on the listings of well-known Chinese tech giants, Alibaba, JD.com, Meituan Dianping and Kuaishou, among others.
Commenting on the win, Asia Regional Managing Partner, Michael Gagie, said, “We are very honoured to be the recipient of these awards, which highlight the impeccable work of our team and further solidify our position as a leading international law firm in Asia. This recognition also serves as a validation of the firm’s commitment to providing exemplary and professional service to our clients.”
Earlier this year, the firm was named “Offshore Law Firm of the Year” at the 2021 IFLR Asia Pacific Awards.
