In addition to retaining this position, the team is also ranked as the number one legal adviser for new Irish business (all sub-funds launched) in 2020.
Peter Stapleton, Partner and head of the Funds & Investment Management team in the Group’s Irish office commented on the results: “Despite what has been an incredibly challenging year, we are delighted to have retained our position as the top funds adviser to Irish-serviced funds for the eighth year running and of course, we’re very pleased to be listed as the number one firm for new Irish business1. As the largest legal adviser to international funds in Ireland, we look forward to continuing to combine our global expertise with local know-how for the benefit of clients doing business in the Irish market.”
He continued: “This is testament to the talented group of lawyers we have in the team, and our market leading clients, who we are privileged to represent. The asset management industry demonstrated remarkable resilience in the face of much uncertainty during 2020. That resilience, as well as the developing regulatory landscape, are cause for great optimism. The much awaited reform of the Investment Limited Partnership (ILP) structure will radically reshape the Irish private equity space and the introduction of the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation will build on Ireland’s position as a global hub for ESG and green finance, which looks set to be a dominant focus for the next decade.”
