Maples Group Advises Screaming Eagle on US$4.6 Billion Combination with Lionsgate’s Studio Business
Maples and Calder, the Maples Group’s law firm, has advised Screaming Eagle Acquisition Corp., a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC), on its US$4.6 billion business combination with the studio business of Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. The transaction creates one of the world’s largest publicly-traded, pure play content platforms.

The firm provided Cayman Islands legal advice, with White & Case and Goodmans providing US and Canadian legal advice respectively. The Maples Group team was led by Daniel Lee, head of Corporate in the Cayman Islands, working alongside associates James Turner and Anna McIntyre.
