Julia Journée Joins Maples Group’s Growing Luxembourg Law Firm
Maples and Calder, the Maples Group’s law firm, is pleased to announce that it has made another significant appointment to its Luxembourg law firm with the addition of Julia Journée as an Of Counsel in its Finance practice. The latest appointment follows a period of exceptional growth at the firm and is in direct response to increasing demands for the firm’s Luxembourg legal services from new and existing international clients.

Julia, a former Senior Legal Advisor at Quintet Private Bank in Luxembourg, has over 13 years’ experience working at a number of leading law firms in Luxembourg including independent and Magic Circle law firms. Working alongside Arnaud Arrecgros who leads the firm’s growing Luxembourg Finance practice, Julia will support both the local and global finance teams who are consistently selected to act on high profile cross-border fund finance, capital markets, structured finance, banking, acquisition finance and restructuring and insolvency related transactions. Most recently, the Luxembourg Finance practice acted for three major investment banks on a landmark Luxembourg securitisation transaction and the team was lauded by clients and industry peers in The Legal 500 for their “strength in executing complex cross-border transactions”. The team also received noteworthy rankings and feedback in the 2021 IFLR1000 guide for their exceptional client service and ability to deliver innovative solutions.
Julia’s appointment follows the recent strategic hire of Jean-Dominique Morelli to the firm’s Luxembourg Tax practice and further illustrates the Maples Group’s ongoing commitment to developing its presence in the jurisdiction. In addition to providing full service legal advice on Luxembourg finance matters, the law firm also has dedicated practices in Funds & Investment Management, Corporate and Tax with a deep bench of highly experienced lawyers on the ground.
