Aisling Dwyer’s nominator shared that “Aisling has been involved in the IWIRC Woman of the Year in Restructuring (Asia) Award steering committee for the past three years.  This initiative was conceived in 2018 to recognise women in the restructuring and insolvency industry in Asia who have inspired and skilfully led a restructuring team, provided creative solutions and innovative legal applications, showed exceptional leadership, and have made extraordinary contributions to the insolvency and restructuring professions.”  She detailed the numerous way that “Aisling has been an integral part of the committee” in addition to offering glowing remarks about Aisling’s work with the IWIRC Asia conferences.

Aisling is a member and former co-chair of IWIRC’s Hong Kong chapter, as well as Asia Regional director of IWIRC International.  She is also a member and director of the Company and Insolvency Law Society (“COINS”) in Hong Kong, as well as a member of International Association of Restructuring, Insolvency & Bankruptcy Professionals (“INSOL”), Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (“STEP”),Turnaround Management Association (“TMA”)’s Hong Kong Chapter, Ladies in Litigation and Arbitration (“LILA”) and Women in Law Hong Kong (“WILHK”).  She was recognised as one of GRR’s ‘Names to Know’ in Hong Kong and China in 2018 and moderated the 2nd edition of GRR Live Hong Kong in November.

Commenting on the award, Aisling said, “It is a great honour to be awarded the Fetner Award considering the wonderful contributions of so many members of IWIRC across its global network.  IWIRC has played a huge role in both my professional and social personal life since I joined in 2011 and I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and opportunities it has offered me, both at the IWIRC Hong Kong board level and now as a member of the board of IWIRC International, on which I presently serve as Asia Regional Director.  It has been a pleasure to get involved in the various initiatives operated by IWIRC at a local, regional and international level.  IWIRC is a fantastic, supportive organisation connecting women, and indeed, men worldwide and I look forward to continuing my involvement and contributions in the years ahead.”

The 2021 IWIRC Founder awards will be presented at a ceremony later this year.
