OVERVIEW

Niamh is a partner of Maples and Calder's Funds & Investment Management team in the Maples Group's Dublin office.  She advises clients on the establishment and on-going operation of Irish regulated investment funds and on the legal and regulatory developments impacting such investment funds.

Niamh has particular expertise in the ESG and sustainable investment space.  She regularly advises asset managers on the implementation and compliance with the EU’s Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulations and the Taxonomy Regulation.

Niamh also has strong expertise in UCITS regulation, in particular alternative UCITS and ETFs.  She has significant experience in AIFs authorised under the Irish AIFMD regime.

BACKGROUND

Niamh trained within the Maples Group and was elected as a partner in 2020.

IFLR1000 rank Niamh as a 'Rising Star Partner' and she was also recognised as a 'Rising Star' at the Euromoney European Women in Business Law Awards 2020.

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES

Niamh is an active industry participant. She is a regular contributor to international funds publications and recently co-authored both a Level 2 Guide to the EU Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation and a Fund Directors’ Guide in association with AIMA. Niamh is also a frequent speaker at industry conferences, seminars and webinars on the areas of ESG, ETFs and the Irish funds space.  Niamh is a leadership member of the Irish Chapter of Women in ETFs and also sits on the Women in ETFs EMEA Mentoring Committee.
