Areas of Expertise
Ian is a partner in the Funds & Investment Management team in the Maples Group’s Cayman Islands office. His primary practice is in private equity and venture capital funds. Ian represents a wide range of private equity and venture capital sponsors on matters involving structuring, formation and operation of private funds. He also regularly advises on downstream private equity and venture capital transactions and portfolio investments and on related corporate transactions, including joint ventures, co-investments, management equity, buy-outs and restructurings.
Ian joined the Maples Group in 2019. Prior to his move to the Cayman Islands, he worked in the private equity and financial institutions teams at Kirkland & Ellis and Ashurst, respectively, in London.
Ian is a member of the Cayman Islands Legal Practitioners Association.
