OVERVIEW

Mark is head of Maples and Calder's Finance team in the Maples Group's Jersey office and partner of the Corporate team.  He advises on a range of corporate, finance and investment funds transactions.  Mark, a Jersey Advocate, has a particular focus on the use of Jersey structures in corporate real estate transactions, including advising in respect of sharia-compliant holding structures and trust structures. 

BACKGROUND

Mark joined the Maples Group in 2020.  He was previously a partner at another international law firm and prior to arriving in Jersey in 2011, worked in the corporate department of Fladgate LLP in London. 

Mark has been recommended in Legal 500 as a Next Generation lawyer.  He is also rated as 'highly regarded' in IFLR1000 where clients describe "Mark's knowledge of corporate and financial law is second to none and he provides timely, commercial advice in a calm and confident manner.  Nothing is ever too much trouble and you can be certain that the aspects of any transaction for which he is responsible will be done on time and to the highest standards."
