Areas of Expertise

Tina is Global Head of Maples and Calder’s Finance team and is based in the Cayman Islands office. In addition to leading the firm’s Finance practice globally, she heads the global Fund Finance and Derivatives teams and plays a leading role in shaping the firm’s strategic direction. Alongside her client practice, Tina is actively involved in driving innovation, technology adoption, operational excellence, and service transformation initiatives across the Maples Group to enhance client service and delivery.

Tina advises sponsors, fund managers, banks and other financial institutions on some of the most complex and innovative financing transactions in the market. Her practice spans fund finance, derivatives, banking, structured finance and securitisations, as well as corporate and commercial matters, including the establishment and operation of international investment funds. She regularly advises hedge funds, private equity funds, lenders and other market participants on subscription and NAV credit facilities, secured lending arrangements and bespoke financing structures. Drawing on extensive experience in the derivatives market, Tina also advises global industry bodies and financial institutions on derivatives documentation, collateral arrangements and Cayman Islands insolvency-related matters. Known for her strategic commercial insight and pragmatic, solutions-driven approach, she is regularly sought out to assist clients in navigating complex transactions, evolving regulatory landscapes and emerging market developments.

Tina is consistently recognised as one of the leading finance lawyers in the Cayman Islands. She is ranked Band 1 by Chambers and Partners, recognised as a Leading Partner by Legal 500 and as Highly Regarded by IFLR1000. She was also named among the IFLR1000 Women Leaders from 2022 to 2025. Reflecting her standing in the market, Chambers describes Tina as “market-leading in funds finance and a stateswoman of the industry who is completely across all of its products.”

Beyond her legal practice, Tina is a recognised leader within the global private funds financing market. She serves on the Board of Directors and as Vice Chair of the Fund Finance Association, the leading industry body for the global fund finance market and is a member of the Cayman Islands Legal Practitioners Association (CILPA). She is also the creator of the firm’s bi-annual FUNDed publication, which brings together insights and market perspectives from the Maples Group’s global Fund Finance team and has become a valued resource for participants across the industry.

Tina sits on the Board and is Vice Chair of the Fund Finance Association, a non-profit association for the fund finance market.  She is also a member of the Cayman Islands Legal Practitioners Association (CILPA).

Beyond her professional and industry leadership roles, Tina is actively engaged in supporting the Cayman Islands community. She serves as Vice Chairwoman of The Pines Retirement Home, where she contributes to the governance and strategic direction of one of the Cayman Islands’ most respected charitable organisations dedicated to the care and wellbeing of senior citizens. Her involvement reflects a broader commitment to community service and positive social impact.
