Robert has over 20 years’ experience in private and commercial trusts, with particular expertise in Cayman Islands trusts and foundation companies. He is consistently ranked as a leading Cayman Islands trust and estate practitioner and thought leader by major legal directories. A seasoned speaker at local and international trust conferences, Robert has also authored many leading professional journal articles on a wide range of topics relating to trusts and estates. Robert is also a longstanding STEP Cayman Islands Council Member, head of the STEP Cayman Islands Scholarship sub-committee, and the current Cayman Islands representative for the STEP Mental Capacity Global Special Interest Group. Robert has been recognised as a leading private client lawyer by Who’s Who Legal.
Robert began his legal career in Jersey, Channel Islands in 1998 and spent seven years practicing in the UK. He returned to the Cayman Islands in 2007 to work at leading law firms, including Maples and Calder, the legal services business of the Maples Group. Prior to joining the Maples Group he was the Head of International Private Trusts and Trusts (Cayman Islands) at the international law firm Collas Crill.
