Mark is Managing Partner of the Maples Group's legal services team in Hong Kong and head of the finance practice in Asia. He is also the global head of asset finance. Mark represents major financial institutions on all aspects of banking law, specialising in asset and acquisition finance.  He has worked extensively in the aircraft finance sector.

Background

Mark joined the Maples Group in the Cayman Islands in 2004 before moving to Hong Kong in 2009.  He was previously a partner at White & Case and before that, a partner at Weil, Gotshal & Manges where he completed a secondment to GECAS.  He has also worked for other major City firms. Mark has been named as a leading banking lawyer in IFLR1000 and recommended for aviation by Who's Who Legal and Legal Media Group's Expert Guide.  Mark has been recognised by Legal 500 Asia Pacific for having "superb business sense".

BAR ADMISSIONS

1988 - Admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales (not practising)
2004 - Admitted as an attorney-at-law in the Cayman Islands
2010 - Admitted as a solicitor of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court (British Virgin Islands)

EDUCATION

Mark is a graduate of the University of Kent, Canterbury, UK.
