SENIOR INTERNAL IT AUDITOR

OVERVIEW

Applications are invited by the Leeds office of Maples and Calder for the position of:

Senior Internal IT Auditor

The Senior Internal IT Auditor reports directly to the Chairman of the Board of MaplesFS Holdings Limited on MaplesFS Internal Audit matters and to each Local Management Committee for Maples and Calder Internal Audit matters. The Senior Internal IT Auditor also reports to the Audit Committees and administratively, to the Head of Internal Audit.

The Senior Internal IT Auditor is primarily responsible for the internal audits of the Maples Group in relation to compliance with information technology policies, procedures and controls including information/cyber security. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:

Internal Audit

  • conducting SOC 1 and SOC 2 Type 2 readiness reviews and generally assisting with the SOC 1, SOC 2 Type 2, OSPAR and ISO 27001 audit engagements as they relate to IT controls;
  • preparing the written internal IT audit charters, which will be subject to review and approval by the Audit Committees, that set out the scope of activities, authority, and independence for internal auditing;
  • preparing the written internal IT audit plans, which will be subject to review and approval by the Audit Committees, that set out the frequency of audits, which offices and business units are to be covered (including timeframe), summary of testing to be performed, control objectives and detailed procedures;
  • preparing the written internal IT audit reports, which will be subject to review and approval by the Audit Committees, that set out the critical control weaknesses, the important control weaknesses and the areas for improvement identified during onsite audits;
  • conducting the annual review of the IT Control Matrix, which will be subject to review and approval by the Chief Information Officer and the Audit Committees;
  • examining and assessing IT policies and procedures;
  • independently and objectively examining, evaluating and consulting with regard to the adequacy and effectiveness of business activities, including operational risk management and corporate governance;
  • evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of how risks are identified and managed;
  • identifying and reporting compliance breaches;
  • providing recommendations for improvement in those areas where opportunities or deficiencies are identified;
  • providing assurance that internal controls are effective and working as intended;
  • performing regular follow-up audits on non-compliant or high risk areas; and
  • liaising with clients for the purpose of analysing problems, workflows, responsibilities and procedures.

Other:

  • maintaining a high level of expertise in relation to Maples Group systems.

The Senior Internal IT Auditor will also assist the Head of Internal Audit on other internal projects which may include the following:

  • drafting, updating and implementation of policies and procedures manuals;
  • reviewing and assessing the disaster recovery plans including policies and procedures in place in the event of a disaster for each office; and
  • implementing various Maples Group projects.
