Aristos is global head of Maples and Calder's Dispute Resolution & Insolvency team and is based in the Maples Group's Cayman Islands office.  He is an expert in complex international insolvencies, restructurings and security enforcements.  His practice focuses on the Cayman Islands financial services sector, dealing with banks, insurers, investment funds and financing structures that have collapsed or are in default, and representing clients in any resulting litigation.  Aristos has particular experience in distressed investment funds, acting for funds, their directors, service providers and counterparties in a variety of major cross border disputes and crisis events.


Aristos joined the Maples Group in 2001 and was elected as a partner in 2003.  He previously worked for Clifford Chance in London.  Aristos has been recommended as a leading lawyer in Chambers Global, Legal 500 and Who's Who Legal.


1991 - Admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales (not practising)

2001 - Admitted as a solicitor-advocate in England and Wales (not practising)

2002 - Admitted as an attorney-at-law in the Cayman Islands

2004 - Admitted as a solicitor and subsequently as a solicitor-advocate of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court (British Virgin Islands)

2007 - Admitted as a solicitor in Ireland
