Maples Advises Welltel on its Acquisition of Fulnett Ltd.

Maples and Calder (Ireland) LLP, the Maples Group's law firm, is pleased to have advised Welltel on the Irish corporate legal aspects of its acquisition of Fulnett Ltd.

Dublin-based IT and telecoms specialist, Welltel currently employs over 100 people and provides cloud and on-site IT managed services to over 3,000 business customers in Ireland and internationally. Services include IT infrastructure services, business telephone systems, and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and data services.

This acquisition of Cork-headquartered managed connectivity and cloud computing company, Fulnett Ltd., T/A Strencom, is estimated to value the business at more than €10 million. This deal will enhance Welltel’s product suite with the addition of Strencom’s secure data connectivity, cloud infrastructure and managed hosting solutions. Welltel plans to leverage Strencom’s infrastructure to grow its channel relationships, and build on its partnerships with Cisco, Fortinet and Pao Alto.

A team based in the firm's Irish office advised Welltel and was led by Patrick Quinlan, a Partner in the Irish Corporate practice, who was assisted by Associates Morgan Pierse and Lianne Canty.
