14 Jan 2014

The Irish office of leading international law firm Maples and Calder ("Maples") is delighted to have advised Version 1 on its recent acquisition of IT consultancy Rocela Group.

Version 1 is an Irish owned IT services company established in 1996 which now employs 500 people (100 of whom are based in the UK) and is forecasting revenues of €62m for 2014.

Rocela Group is a provider of enterprise application consultancy services employing 75 people in Edinburgh and Knutsford (outside Manchester), with revenues of £14m in 2012.
Chief Executive Officer of Version 1, Justin Keatinge, said that "the acquisition represented a great fit in terms of growth and ambition, commitment to corporate values, staff engagement and customer satisfaction. We expect this deal to benefit all our customers bringing consolidated expertise in Oracle and Microsoft Enterprise application consultancy and licence management and establishing us as the go-to IT service provider for enterprise-scale organisations in Western Europe.”

This deal further enhances Maples' Dublin reputation as leading corporate counsel for M&A transactions, particularly in the technology sector, having advised Silver Lake Partners on the take-private of Dell, Inc. and Aepona on its acquisition by Intel Corporation in the last 12 months.

The team was led by Patrick Quinlan, Corporate partner in the Maples' Dublin office, ably supported by Sinead Garnett.
