OVERVIEW

Everton is a partner of Maples and Calder's Corporate team in the Maples Group's Hong Kong office. He is a private equity, finance and funds lawyer who has acted for major financial institutions, corporations, private equity firms and UHNWs throughout Asia.  His focus includes venture capital and pre-IPO financing, mergers and acquisitions, IPOs in Hong Kong and the United States and the establishment of open and close ended investment funds.

BACKGROUND

Everton joined the Maples Group in Hong Kong in 2000.  He was previously a partner in the Hong Kong office of another international law firm and, prior to that, worked for Shearman & Sterling, White & Case and Linklaters in London.  Everton has been recognised by many legal directories and publications such as Chambers Asia-Pacific, Asian Legal Business and IFLR1000 including as being highly regarded. He is recognized as one of "China’s Elite 100 lawyers (Foreign firm)" by China Business Law Journal's A-List 2021.
