Cayman Maritime Services Park

12 May 2015

The much anticipated Cayman Maritime Services Park was created by the Cayman Islands Government on 5 May 2015 by passage of the Special Economic Zones (Cayman Enterprise City) (Amendment) Order, 2015.

The Cayman Maritime Services Park brings the number of parks within which businesses can operate to seven, and joins the Cayman Internet Park, the Cayman Science and Technology Park, the Cayman Media Park, the Cayman Commodities and Derivatives Park, the Cayman Outsource Park and the Cayman International Academic Park within Cayman Enterprise City's special economic zone.

The creation of the new Cayman Maritime Services Park was announced on 5 May 2015 by the Premier of the Cayman Islands, the Honourable Alden McLaughlin, at the third Cayman Islands Shipping Summit, hosted by Mare Forum.

The new park is designed to attract maritime services businesses to set up a physical presence in the Cayman Islands and to assist in the establishment of the Cayman Islands as the largest maritime services cluster in the region.

Businesses which are set up in the Cayman Maritime Services Park will benefit from the special concessions provided to participants in Cayman Enterprise City's special economic zone.

For more information on setting up a physical presence in the Cayman Islands, please speak to your usual Maples and Calder contact, or one of our experts listed above.
