Rui Duarte

OVERVIEW

Rui is an associate of Maples and Calder (Luxembourg)'s Tax team at the Maples Group.  He advises multinational companies and alternative investments funds in the private equity and real estate industries.  As part of his work, Rui focuses on a variety of international tax issues, including tax structuring advice, cross border holding and financing activities, as well as mergers and acquisitions.

BACKGROUND

Rui joined the Maples Group in 2019.  He was previously a senior consultant in the cross-border tax department of Deloitte Luxembourg.  Rui speaks English, French, Portuguese and Spanish.

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES

Rui teaches a course of International Business Tax Law for undergraduate students at the University of Luxembourg Competence Center.
