Applications are invited by the Cayman Islands office of the Maples Group for the position of

Assistant Vice President – Liquidations

who, under the supervision of a Vice President and/or Senior Vice President, will be responsible for progressing a high volume of voluntary liquidations of offshore companies and partnerships, including investment funds and structured finance vehicles. 

The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include reviewing transaction documents and financial records, attending meetings, preparation of the liquidation documentation, coordinating the client acceptance process and delivering high levels of client service while ensuring that each client relationship is compliant with legal and regulatory requirements as well as internal policies and procedures. He/she will be involved in ad-hoc projects and may represent MaplesFS at various industry association events.

The successful candidate must be able to work independently, have excellent communication skills, superior attention to detail, consistently complete tasks with a high degree of accuracy and the ability to meet tight deadlines. Overtime at short notice will occasionally be required. 

The interview process may include a test to assess knowledge of voluntary liquidations in the jurisdictions in which we operate.

EXPERIENCE

General knowledge of the Cayman Islands voluntary liquidations process is required and knowledge of the British Virgin Islands voluntary liquidation processes would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will have either a professional qualification or 3-5 years’ experience in voluntary liquidations. Knowledge of corporate governance, relevant local laws and regulatory requirements is preferable.

Experience in liaising with onshore and offshore law firms, the Registrar of Companies and the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority would be advantageous.
